Knut and Ellen arrived yesterday, and we had dinner in town. Before noon
today we were provisioning and made the last preparations for the voyage down to
Graqn Canaria.
At 13:40 we had cecked out of Marina de Lagos, and started the engine. We
went into the open sea, and after less than one hour we could set our course for
Las Palmas. 650 nm along the planned route, while the grat circle distance is
637.
So far no wind. Possibly we shall not have winds for sailing before
tomorrow. But it will come to us. The weatherforecast is nice. About 18 – 20
knots most of the route. Out ETA is in 5 days, Thursday the 5th. We calculate
5.5 knots on the average.
We still have 30 degrees temperature. We had lunch and coffee, and we are
chatting in the cockpit, seaking the shade. Now we are crossing the shipping
lanes, but the traffic is far from heavy.
We plan to update the position at noon, UTC, every
day. |
