Once again, we are here at the start of another sailing season.  This one however is planned to be a little more ambitious than before.  The first two weeks have been spent involving a couple of ‘new toys’ for Sonsy Lass. An new sail for downwind sailing and a long range communication system.  The mods and the comms went well. The sail however got stuck in customs but hopefully will catch us up further up the line.  Our first day’s sailing was very pleasant with temperatures warming up nicely and fairly calm seas.  We were out of Turkey and heading to a little Greek anchorage where we spent a peasant evening soaking up the ambience and partaking on our first sundowner, the first of many.

The journey continues with good winds, unfortunately on the nose,. The rocking and rolling seas we encountered along the way got us to the lovely town of Paroikia, Paros, where we moored in the fisherman’s harbor, awaiting contact from our son Derek.  At the last gasp his flight from London was held up, which meant he would have missed the connecting ferry.  We quickly headed for Siros to pick him up from a different ferry. After checking into Greece we headed back to Paros to await friends who were joining us. But alas they were held up by weather.  We now know how it feels to run a ferry service between the Greek Islands!!!  The trip for Paros to Serifos was very pleasant and ended with us anchoring in a fantastic little deserted bay, under warm blue skies with aqua green, flat calm waters.  Another sundowner awaits us to end a perfect day.
