16:53.15N 24:59.51W Over the finish line at 00:54hrs this morning. All pleased with a five and a half day passage. A brilliant down wind sail. Colin said he saw a whale. No one else did. Saw many flying fish along the way. Wind started to drop about four hours from the finish. The last few miles were very slow but we managed to sail over the line. Later boats suffered no wind. Celebrated with champagne and beer and wine ! Slight hangover (some crew) after a sound sleep. Weather hot and humid below decks. Found the local bar so far. Soon to explore further afield. The mammoth cook off prior to sailing paid off. We ate well. “Spare Rations” is safe for the moment.
