Porto Santo Friday 30th

We are STILL in Porto
Santo, partly because of the company, and partly because we wanted to have
Otti's birthday party here. She was 11 yesterday!! Now old
enough for four hour watches at least. We have met another
boat with kids, three girls, from Canada, called Koshlong, and today we are all
going to Madeira. We are planning a race....with Regina, Koshlong
and Sarah Grace. We are going to Quinta da Lorde on the north
east side of Madeira.
 This is a picture of Otti
winning FIRST prize in the sandcastle competition, being presented with a watch
by Christopher Columbus. Yes, it's the Christopher Columbus Fiesta
Week!! Otti and Mimi also won prizes for painting part of a mural in the
town centre. Otti did the octopus...!
 We plan to spend a few days
in Madeira and then move on fairly smartly by dint of a two to three day passage
to Lanzarote in the Canaries, Graciosa. Chris has great plans to catch a
tuna fish, and has bought a special little red plastic octopus lure, following
local advice,(are they pulling his leg??). Any success will be
immediately reported with photographic evidence.
