We had a wonderful time and we took an enormous
number of photographs----this is just a flavour of what we saw.
We were on board the Mary Anne, a brigantine
carrying a maximum of 24 passengers but we were only eleven, all English
speaking plus an excellent naturalist guide.
![]() Our first day was an 0530 start with a hike to see
land iguanas
![]() and we saw lots of sea lions, both old and
young
![]() ![]() the birds were very tame and did not mind us
walking amongst them even though they had chicks. We saw blue footed boobies,
frigate birds, mocking birds, tropic birds, finches and Galapagos
doves
![]() ![]() Marine iguanas lived on different
islands
![]() we spent a lot of time snorkelling and saw and swam
with black tipped and whit tipped sharks, manta rays and spotted rays and lots
of different fish. some rays played and mated in the shallows next to the
beach
![]() ![]() ![]() on land we saw tortoises, including Lonesome George
the last Pinta Island tortoise. The wild tortoises were wandering freely in the
National Park on Santa Cruz
![]() and we wre well looked after on the Mary Anne
