Course ---

Ok, I know it's not on marine traffic but I am in Terceira.  

Tough passage with 15 kts on the nose and an annoying sea.  Boat flew quite a lot and I have a new leak to fix tomorrow morning in the heater chimney.  That runs out through the ceiling of the cabin just above my bunk so I moved the cushion and spent the night sleeping with my feet in a carrier bag because the drip on my feet was too much to sleep through.  

Nature.  

The whales turned up.  I was making a cup of tea and noticed that there were load of birds about to went on deck.  

Must have been a shoal of bait fish because the birds went crazy and piled in and then a whole pod of pilot whales exploded out of the sea about 100 m behing us.  These are not huge whales but they shouldn't be able to fly. 

Was a great couple of minutes but when I got round to grabbing my phone from the cabin it was really too late.  I got one whale leaping in the distance but it doesn't capture the moment.   That's in my mind's eye and locked in. 

Leaving for home tomorrow in the late afternoon (after fixing leaky chimney) and will probably update from mobile as tonight.  

After that then normal service resumes with me checking texts between 4 and 7 pm UK time and I'll try to update blog at 6pm.  

Sorry if I have missed texts today, I will catch up after I leave here tomorrow.
