It's coming up to 0300 in the morning and it will soon be time to wake Lynn, Ha, Ha. Not a good time to have to get up, that is if you are even asleep. It's been a bumpy night despite there being little wind, into which we are motoring. We have been motoring now for about 28 hours so progress is good but it's noisy and the boat's motion is much less comfortable than when she is sailing. There is nothing to dampen the battering of charging through the waves, even though they are only about 3 feet and at least we are upright. Rather we roll from side to side instead of leaning over the same way all the time.

175 miles or so to go and we are all counting them down, which is even worse than watching the kettle. Each mile you counted down seems to have taken longer than the last. No it's not that bad, what's not to like. We have had a lovely sunny day, the night is clear with a wonderful view of the stars and milky way and we are completely alone. Or it seems that way. We very rarely see a ship and then only on the screen because they are miles away, well out of sight.

One tiny bit of activity today. The port navigation light stopped working last night so once it was light we set out to investigate and fix. Can't blame the cause on anyone else, it was a bad electrical connection. The fault was as a result of your incompetent skipper changing the light some time ago after it was damaged. Need to improve my electrical work.

Off to make another cup of tea before waking Lynn and being able to turn in myself.
