It's a long time since we
posted a blog covering our travels. After signing off having crossed the
Atlantic we spent the next couple of years cruising the eastern Caribbean,
holidaying really. Except of course Covid got in the way, as well as a few
problems with Allegria, she is a boat after all.
Last winter we left the
Caribbean in January and sailed north via the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico,
Dominican Republic, Bahamas and the east coast of the USA. Hence Allegria has
been based in Severn Yachting Centre for the summer. Severn Yachting Centre is
on the Severn River (naturally) which flows into Mobjack Bay on the Chesapeake.
Lovely place, very remote and very beautiful.
Launched last Thursday we
have been working through a long list of jobs to get Allegria ready to sail. We
should be ready in the next couple of days and will then set off for the eastern
Caribbean. Looks like we will stop in St Martin before going on to Antigua. We
will try to post reasonably regularly so you can follow our progress, if that is
of interest.
