Apologies there were no photos of the above in the last blog. Hope these provide some amusement; they perhaps bear out the saying 'cruising is contrasts'. Leaving the Helford in perfect conditions: ![]() Rounding the Longships Light, off Lands End. Who put the sun to bed? ![]() Lunch preps courtesy of the duty galley slave: ![]() followed by sun and an increasing wind ![]() and then the sun went to be bed again and the rain replaced it. Peter kept a supervisory eye on George as he did his stuff once more: ![]() We had several migrating swallows take a 30 minute rest on board. Sadly this little fellow did not recover, despite enjoying the warmth of the cabin. His body was duly committed to the deep with full honours and ceremony. ![]() We had to beat out of the bay under staysail and 3 reefs before heaving to while we awaited the making tide to allow us into Kilmore. Some sunshine, but some serious rain squalls too. ![]() Once safely in Kilmore, it was operation dry ship. ![]() The asymmetric needed some water removal too ![]() While the skipper planned the next move - we head for Holyhead tomorrow. ![]() That's all for now folks. |
