Well its tuesday evening, and what a 24 hours we
had... i am knackered, but in a good way, last night was big winds and waves as
we battled through the front, and this morning we came out the other side, while
i was on watch we had a very quick wind shift, one minute it was coming from the
south the next a fully fledged northerly... the northerly swell followed but
unfortunatley no one has told the southerly swell its no longer required so
we've had a messy sea state all day, gradually calming but we are still getting
the odd bang splash from the south...
so not much sleep last night but i quite enjoy
it when its all go, it makes the time pass much quicker, although not much
chance to add to my tan... speaking of which, i am a little sunburnt thanks to
yesterdays glorious sunshine, except because im on watch and we are going west,
the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, but on a slightly southern side
so my port side, is sunburnt but my right barely coloured, so on the nextt
sunny day i will have to face backwards all day to even it up a bit...
the sun is setting now in front of me, it is
beautiful, we just need this sea to settle a little bit and im sure it will a
very pleasant night, or atleast we'll hopefully get a few hours kip without
being thrown alll over the cabin!!
Wednesday
Beautiful sunny day, long swell from the north
west. The wind is light and will decrease further today so we will probably do
some motoring. Our weather outlook is generally not favourable and it looks as
though the next 1,000 miles will be upwind in a boat that does not perform well
upwind. So we are going to have slow progress and will have to put into Bermuda
for a brief stop to top up our food and water supplies for the last
week.
