Sun 11th July

Stayed in Lochaline. Walked up to the head of the loch in search of sea otters but none came out to play. Past Kinlochaline castle to Ardtornish Estate and visited the shop. We sheltered in an old boathouse during a shower, and ate our packed lunch there.

A seal in the harbour entertained us by splashing violently - apparently mating or aggressive behaviour but no other seal or cause to be seen.

In the evening we watched England lose to Italy. It isn't coming home this time .

Sunday 12th July

Motored in flat calm across the Firth of Lorn to Dunstaffnage bay and checked into the marina. Bar/restaurant closed, presumably due to Covid. Shop reputed to be 500m from marina was actually nearer twice that, but we did some provisioning and spent the afternoon enjoying the sun.
