Just arrived at the anchorage on Ascension island as darkness fell. We had to motor the last 30 miles in light winds but the brown boobies, white terns, sooty terns and the white capped noddies kept us company on the way in while sharks investigated our fishing lures and something large an undesirable took our newest squid. Dolphins also made an appearance. The island is a pile of multi coloured volcanics with cloud forest on the top and a massive array of military  electronics around the coast. We look forward to exploring tomorrow. All well on board with rum anchor drop.
