Another clear night but unfortunately one of motoring although with oily
calm sea this lead to good progress.
The wind started to return with sunrise and by 0930 we could stop the
engine and were soon sailing close hauled at 5 knots which felt great and as it
livened up to 6 knots even better.
Chris’ early morning star sight on Regal centuarus was within 0.36 of a
mile of the GPS putting him in an excellent mood to start the day. Andy was
equally pleased when his fix on the morning sun was within 3.5 miles of the GPS
and as it was only his 3rd day at trying out the sextant that was pretty
good!
It is a while since we have sailed to windward and being heeled one way
rather than rolling from side to side is a pleasant change once life at 25
degrees to port has been adjusted to. No cards at this angle though.
Just reefed ready for a bit of a squall ahead and in preparation for a more
windy night.
Great sailing and all well aboard.
