Sunday 10th May was the 1st sunny day in a week when the wind not over 25+ knots so said goodbye to Lisa & Ryan, Nicky and David and their friends on the pontoon and moved on while we could.  Sailed all the way into Salcombe and caught a mooring buoy in the harbour right outside the yacht club, only to be told by the Harbour master that we would have to move into The Bag along a pontoon as another Force 8-9 was due Monday.

We re-moored again against the pontoon up the river, it was a very picturesque location. We paid for 3 nights and got one free a bargain as he also applied a 25% discount so we paid £58.50 for 4 nights.

Once we got settled, David had talked to all the boats on the pontoon we started our new DVD, Brothers & Sisters which looks good, 40 minutes an episode so just the right length so it keeps David’s interested.

We woke up on Monday early as the boat and pontoon was rocking with a wind already over 35 knots coming up the river….so it was a day for pottering, catching up with blogs, emails etc.  I tried fishing but no luck I need an idiots guide to setting up a rod with the correct line and bait etc.

Tuesday – More wind, but we ventured out on the rib into Salcombe had lunch at the yacht club.  Salcombe was empty even the main car park was empty. We had waves up into the Bag area of the river and the forecast David was downloading was not good news.

Wednesday – Thank god was brighter and drier, so we got the water taxi to drop us off on the east side and we walked up to Prowle Point and did a 6 mile hike, it definitely blew the cobwebs away.  Sat like an old couple on a bench overlooking the sea watching the waves crashing in, there were no boats out just a “Low” over us.
