At noon precisely the main came down, engine was turned off and Nick and Tom went for a swim in a dead calm sea with 4,000m of depth and a sea temperature of 29 degrees celsius. All crew also had showers ! Watermaker and washing machine were tested and all worked - a relief.
Glorious weather all day with light winds which meant motor sailing continued. Before the evening meal of Jambalaya ( Portuguese chorizo not the same…) Alexander demonstrated the power of the underwater firecrackers - 2 were tied to a stone and thrown over the transom. The flash as they went off was visible underwater and also a boom against the hull - no fish floating on the surface - Alexander said he was demonstrating the Finish fishing technique!
Beautiful sunset and the low wind speeds continue. For most of the night there was no other ship in sight or on the radar . Overnight we had our first visitor, a flying fish , found on deck who was given back to Poseidon this morning.
Today is Parasailor day which will be going up around noon - an update tomorrow.
All photos will be uploaded on Friday.
