After a great 6 days in Baiona with a view change - Paul and Chris left with Sarah and Fiona arriving - we set off for the second leg to Povoa de Varzim. 10.30am a racing start for the 55 nm to Povoa. A good sail with the Gennakar up to reach the finish at 17.00 but big waves at the entrance made bringing down the sails interesting whilst dodging lobster pots. The wind had picked up so not good of berthing and on the way in following the main channel we ran aground - one of 4 ARC boats to do so. Poor planning coming in at low tide and also by the marina who said there was plenty of depth in the main channel………
