Change of plan

The north wind doth blow and we’ve been sitting in Shotley enjoying the sunshine but waiting for it to pass. We were going to put Mira up for sale when we got to Hartlepool but we’ve realised this is a big boating area so we’ve decided to leave her here rather than carry on up the east coast. It’s been a big decision for us to hang up our sea legs and look to new adventures so we will see what happens next. In the meantime this is the end of this journey, and time for some statistics. We’ve been away from home just under 11 months and have travelled over 3000 miles – 1589 NM from Greece to Gibraltar in Deep Blue and 1593 from Gibraltar to England in Mira. Both boats have been excellent but we feel a special affection for Mira, it will be a wrench to say goodbye to her. Thankyou to you all for following this blog, your support has meant so much and we’re looking forward to catching up with you all in person. For now though it’s ‘Mira out’. |
