Never a dull moment

This week’s excitement has been a boat saved from sinking and the unexpected arrival of Deep Blue back in Marina Bay.  Our neighbours 2 doors along went for a 20 minute walk with the dog one evening and came back to find themselves knee deep in water when they stepped down below.  A water pipe to the engine had burst, the seacock was seized and the bilges pumps couldn’t cope.  The marina staff brought large pumps and soon got things sorted but it would have been a different story if the couple had gone out for the whole evening.  Yesterday the new owner of Deep Blue went for a day sail and came into the marina due to the high winds around Europa Point.  They’d had a great sail and were delighted with her performance in gusty conditions so it was lovely to see her again, especially as her teak decks have been cleaned and she looks very smart.

Lastly, I thought you might like to meet Nosotros, the power boat we’ve taken in part exchange for Deep Blue.  She’s across in La Linea (the Spanish side of the runway) and her name means ‘Ours’ in Spanish.  She’s up for sale so, if you fancy a motor boat, here’s a couple of photos to whet your appetite.  She’s lovely, it’s a shame we only like sailing boats!
