This is our latest crew member – yes, I know he’s not very pretty but we have high expectations of his helming ability.   We’ve christened him Monty as he is a Monitor (we’re getting very sad here on board – our wind generator is called Jo because Jenny seemed too obvious!)

Thankyou to everyone who’s emailed or texted (is that a word?) their support following the previous blog.   We may yet get to the Caribbean -  Jimmy Cornell (who started the ARC) has set up a new Atlantic crossing.  The first one leaves in November but the second one leaves in January from Lanzarote so that’s a possibility if we haven’t made the decision to cross by ourselves if the weather’s right – it seems a shame to let those Cape Verde visas go to waste.  One of our friends wrote this morning ‘You can now take the time to be “proper” cruisers – if you have to tack, you’re going the wrong way! Go with the wind, see where it takes you and start to enjoy cruising now.’
