last days of the carribean

As we gear up in St Maarten for our trip North to
Bermuda we have yet again ladened the boat with more food and drink than we
could eat in a circumnavigation of Mars - but Teg has seen me hungry and it's
not pretty. Luckily we had the antifouling taken up an inch in Antigua to
account for this added bulk and also to accomodate Andy Mac's saxaphone which
will be arriving in Bermuda. No sleep during his night watches we
suspect.
We have continued to get about a bit before
arriving in the Dutch Antilles which are duty free (oh no) and house the best
chandlery stores I have ever seen. We have bought a new bog seat to take
advantage of this and I have bought a new watch so I can smarten up my image
when we get back to work. It's all double cuffs and cufflinks for me from now
on. Teg obviously doesn't need to smarten up her act so no new watch for
her.
We had a great day with Andy and Kay Scott in
Antigua on our return from Barbuda. Luckily they were hungover after a hard
night at Sunsail so we didn't have to do too much to keep Scotty happy.
Just lunch and snorkelling on the wreck in Deep Bay followed by a great
evening sail back to Dickenson Bay then rum punches and more food.
Give the wheel a break Scotty - what's it done to
you?

Teg has had ideas of downsizing to accomodate
bigger tastes in boats so I have proposed a few suggestions and this one (in
Nevis) is topping the bill at the moment. Would suit an enthusiastic lover of
DIY and mosquitoes...

Another 'small world' event occurred in Nevis where
we stumbled across the office of a Dr Glenville Liburd MBBS FFARCSI FRCA with
whom I trained as a registrar in Glasgow about a million years ago. We
knocked on the door and there he was (complete with a bit of grey hair)
attending to duties as a GP anaesthetist. He gave us a tour of the fantastic new
hospital but we had to move off to get back to the boat before socialising could
commence.

This is near as I hope to get to a stethescope for
a while yet.
Must away to indulge in some more of the StM duty
free living.......
