Hi All

Well here is the update we promised to post before we left Las Palmas, in the end time was against so here it is.

Puerto Calero

We spent six weeks in Puerto Calero though we originally intended to stay there only a few days. The main reason for our extended stay was that our bowthruster failed as we were leaving so had to quickly slip back to our berth for repairs. We met up again with Sheila and Graham (Papaver) and also met Martin and Christa (Meitle) from Switzerland, Gillian and Alan (Kumari) Richard, Paula and Kimberly (Morning Song) Tony and Christine (Waylander) and Mike and Shiho (Calypso Flyer).

Las Palmas - Gran Canaria

Arrived in Las Palmas on 16th October 2006 after sailing with Graham and Sheila from Puerto Calero. Spent the first four weeks resting swimming at the club and visiting the chandlers as well as shopping trips to Court Englis. The final weeks were pretty hectic with inspections, parties, seminars and preparation for the crossing including Janice's vitalling which included some 100 loaves of prebaked bread. Lucy had a couple of haircuts, the last one prior to leaving at the groomers (she looked like a lion). All this and very welcomed visits from Ian and Christine,and Ken and Tamsin. The latter enjoying the cocktail party and dinghy water fight.
