The clouds were burnt off by the sun by mid morning
(our complaint was acknowledged obviously) and we have enjoyed another brisk
sail with our two poled out foresails. Barrelling down the blue Atlantic waves
in warm winds from behind
Paul gave us a lesson in taking sights of the sun by
sextant - and both David and I struggled but hopefully with some more
practice tomorrow we will become more proficient and will have a new found skill to use for our in
Atlantic crossing in November
This evening we enjoyed a lasagne and salad a la cockpit
floor as the sea didn't quite get that this was our last evening supper of the
voyage! Tasted great though
So now we are battening down for the night
watches and expecting more traffic around us tonight than we have seen
on the whole trip as we join the large commercial marine shipping fleet
serving the Canary Islands as well as local fishing fleets
So far we have averaged 7 knots so if we can keep that
going will be in Arrecife, Lanzarote by late/afternoon/early evening with mobile
access before that as we sail down the coast
134 miles to go
