Hi once again from the crew of SY Tranquilizer. Our
progress continues towards waypoint Cap St Vincent on the SE coast of Portugal
(albeit slower than we would like). Wind is more northerly now which is good but
strength has dropped to as low Force 2 to 3 at times. So it's been engine
on motor sailing for much of past 48 hours.
Moral remains high though, no sign of any mutinous
behaviour as yet. So hopefully Dan won't need to practice his keel hauling
skills which he claims to have acquired whilst serving as an officer in the
Swiss Navy. I've managed to pick myself up from the deck having heard Swansea
beat Reading in the Play-off Final, there's always next year! (well one can hope
so anyway)
No sign of scurvy
either, the culinary skills demonstrated thus far by Otty, George & Dan are
turning this trip in to a seafaring edition of Masterchef! Wednesday afternoon
finally brought forth activity on the fishing line, Stefano leapt in the air
shouting something unpronouncable in Italian and then pulled the line in as if
his life depended on it. His much sought after Barracuda finally revealed
itself, disguised as a 3kg Tuna. We called him 'Tommy'. George was 'Mother'
yesterday and prepared a very tasty meal with our 'Tommy'. For someone who
claims he can't cook he'll be popular in the kitchen when he joins Durham Uni in
the Autumn!

Beautifiul weather here today could just do with
some wind. Just heard some US Navy communications over the radio, they're on
search & rescue excercises nearby, should hopefullly provide some activity
instead of looking at waves all the time.
All being well our estimated ETA at Gibralter will
be around Sunday lunchtime. Gordon is hoping we make it in time to see the
French Open Mens Final.
Signing off for now.Best wishes to all our families
and friends from all the crew.
