THE REGATTA STARTS TO UNFOLD

There is a daily parade - around sundowners’ time - 4.30 - 5.30 pm.  First the bridge goes up to allow boats out of the lagoon, and then it opens again for incoming traffic.  It's a good spectacle to watch.  Some of the mega yachts squeeze in with barely an inch to spare - some even scrape 'cos the Skipper got it slightly wrong.  At present however, the major traffic is the pretty sleek racing yachts.   Some photos below.  

Today is for the "professionals" - around the island race.  Tomorrow those enthusiastic amateurs get a turn as well! Whatever the race, an exciting spectacle - plus (did I forget to mention?) - its all viewed from the Yacht Club bar - and of course the beers are happy hour prices!
