THE REGATTA STARTS TO UNFOLD

There is a daily parade - around sundowners’
time - 4.30 - 5.30 pm. First the bridge goes up to allow boats out of the
lagoon, and then it opens again for incoming traffic. It's a good
spectacle to watch. Some of the mega yachts squeeze in with barely an
inch to spare - some even scrape 'cos the Skipper got it slightly wrong.
At present however, the major traffic is the pretty sleek racing
yachts. Some photos below. Today is for the "professionals" - around
the island race. Tomorrow those enthusiastic amateurs get a turn as well!
Whatever the race, an exciting spectacle - plus (did I forget to mention?) -
its all viewed from the Yacht Club bar - and of course the beers are happy hour
prices! Chippewa dispense T-shirts
