The Mastervolt was recalibrate. The Mastershunt fitted in Beaufort had not been properly setup. The ongoing work at Newport was not properly tested and hence we are inconvenienced. At least it works now. That said we discover at Marion that the Fusion music controller is not working properly. Something else to fix on our return to Newport.
The sail to Provincetown is through the Cape Cod Canal. The canal is deep enough for commercial shipping and carries a current of up to 4 knots so it is important to transit with the current. As it happened tides were perfectly cooperative so were with us early morning. It is possible to experience nasty waves but for us the wind was little. Sail boats are required to motor which we would have to have done on account of conditions.
Indeed, we motor sailed a good way to Cape Cod where we moored on a buoy. There is no marina.
The buoy charge was US$70 which was a bit pricey. At least we had a free motor launch ashore which we took for dinner.
Well, Provincetown really is a sight to behold as it is the gay capital of the East coast. Moreover there is nothing subtle about these guys. Some couples were openly dressing to be noticed!
