Saturday 9^th & Sunday 10^th October

(yes, this is an out or order entry – this weekend’s entry to follow soon).

We were due to be in Lisbon last week so had lined up my sister Wendy, Toby and Alan’s work colleague Sylvia, who lives in Lisbon for what promised to be a lively weekend.  The weather however dictated otherwise but as Wendy was coming on Saturday, a day early, for her conference and I was going a bit stir crazy waiting in Baiona I decided to go anyway.  It did mean leaving at 6.30am with 2 long bus journeys plus one long train journey so took about 10 hours but it was worth it in the end.  Alan had to stay behind to meet Toby, service the engine and look after the boat but we had a really nice sisterly weekend and I got to stay in Wendy’s posh hotel!

Lisbon is a lovely old city with lots of narrow streets and big squares, see below a small sample of Wendy’s many photos.
