Patience ARC 2012

Dear All
Another missive from the Owner who would like to apologise on behalf of his
crew for their silence over the air waves. Times have been a tad trying over the
last 24 hours with constant headwinds of 20 kts plus. The associated seas make
daily life somewhat arduous for them. Winds are supposed to moderate from now on
so the crew will try harder to keep in touch.
We have just tacked on to starboard to make a push to perhaps 15 degrees
South hopefully to pick up the trade winds. Malcolm claimed that this was his
decision based on a mariner’s instinct rather than the facts Alasdair and
I had at our disposal. This is not a normal year weather wise and if we stay
North we will encounter more headwinds which none of us signed up for. We are
therefor in for a 20 day crossing at least.
We have seen countless flying fish and in the middle of last night one
caught Bob full in the face. He is Ok though, the fish that is. No sign of
proper fish from Charlie despite the expensive tackle. I expect we will have to
slow down to catch anything (thanks for the tip Steve).
Keep your fingers crossed that our cunning plan works. We are still in good
spirits and will be in touch when things settle down.
Regards
The Owner
