The light winds at the start of the day increased during the morning and we
had some excellent sailing on a broadish reach covering some much needed
miles. The light winds of the last 24 hours showed us with our lowest
daily mileage yesterday of 133 miles. Our best is 176 miles.
We have an electric winch problem but have a sort of solution as it’s
caused by a sticky rely switch. To operate it we now know the drill is to
push the switch on the port side and hit the coach roof on the starboard side
and it will spring into life. A tried and tested method.
It’s also Phil's birthday today and there was a card and present opening
during the morning. We had afternoon tea with a birthday cake which was
eaten in the cockpit whilst wearing fancy dress.
It’s been a lovely day weather wise and as I write this, we’ve still got
good wind and making between 6 and 7 knots. We’ve a roast dinner in the
oven for this evening if the oven stays alight. |
