Hi All, Hope you are all well wherever you are? We arrived back in Premià de Mar last Monday (23rd Sep) after a stopover in Mallorca. ![]() Both journey’s were seriously lacking wind and so we spent most of both journey’s under engine! After arriving in Premia, reacquainting ourselves with people and places and visiting the Americas Cup in Barcelona, we spent the remaining time tidying up and preparing Lilli Mae for winter. One of the main tasks was to disassemble the boom and after a lot of banging and swearing in Spanish the boom was off. ![]() Now this task is complete we can get on with removing and repairing the furler. A job for which we now have plenty of time! On Friday we were lifted Lilli Mae out of the water. ![]() So that’s it. The end of the journey. We are now back home in the UK and Lilli Mae is now safely stored until April next year. Our adventure to Mo’Bay and back is a mission complete! We left Premià de Mar on the 9th August 2022. Lilli Mae has been away from her Mediterranean home for 2 years and 53 days. Our round trip has resulted in us sailing 12,900 nm and visiting 19 countries. ![]() We have had some fabulous experiences, discovered family, visited wonderful places and met and befriended some special people. For us this has been the trip of a lifetime. Lilli Mae has had the pleasure of lots of great people aboard and we (Mike, Joan and Howard) want to thank everyone who has shared time on Lilli Mae during this adventure - Andrew, Emily, Peter, Clare, Rick and Alan There are so many other people who have helped us along the way; unfortunately too many to mention. But we hope you won’t mind us making a special mention of the twin sister Lillian and Mae Findlay who were the inspiration for our journey. ![]() The idea now is Lilli Mae will explore the Med for the next couple of years. Short trips with family and friends next year. Maybe the eastern Mediterranean in 2026. Who knows but we are excited about being back. Maybe some of you will come aboard? Thanks to everyone who has engaged in our journey and responded to our stories. It has been great getting your messages and sharing our experiences. Here’s hoping you have had or will get a life opportunity like ours. This is the crew aboard Lilli Mae signing off for the last time. Wishing you all the best. ![]() email: lilli_mae {CHANGE TO AT} mailasail {DOT} com blog: http://blog.mailasail.com/lilli_mae tracker: https://share.garmin.com/LilliMae |
