Tuesday 7th May
Variable day with wind gradually veering to the south then south west. Tried various sails – cruising shute for a while and then a poled out goose winged genoa. Both worked for a while but gradually the wind decreased, and by 5pm we were down to 4 knots so time for the engine.
More fishing but only managed to collect weed! We finished the mahi-mahi at lunch time in a ceviche. Dinner was gnocchi and salad, and as we're motoring and the sea is fairly flat, the captain allowed us extra rum rations so we all had a glass of wine after dinner.
Looks like we’ll be motoring for a while, probably tomorrow and then on Thursday should get a north easterly wind ....
