Wind farms,strong currents both with and against us, together with some socialising in Wells-Next-The-Sea was the precursor to a long and tiring sail to Great Yarmouth (156 nm in 2 days) with a mooring up against a harbour wall (not ideal, given the ebb and flow of the tide nearing Springs). We left for Lowestoft on 31st, just a few tacks and some 9 sea miles, arriving there at the fantastic Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Yacht Club (RNSYC)early that morning in glorious sunshine.

We were met shortly afterwards by Di and Andrew Jeans from my home village of Broad Chalke, who flew in Andrew’s plane, bringing my non sailing wife, Sue, to spend a couple of days in Lowestoft.

With wonderful RNSYC hospitality, we chilled out and visited Somerleyton Hall gardens on the morning of 1st August the three returned by plane to Broad Chalke and my co-owner Simon Camamile departed by train for home.
