Good Afternoon George and Sam,
Position as at GMT on Wednesday 12 May 2010. We continue to make
good progress heading for Horta with now 657 miles to run. The winds are still
mainly from the north to east quadrant and quite lively at times when squalls
pass through. Lots of rain last night although temperatures are on the up. As I
write, we are enjoying a good F5 from the NNE.
Regards Tim.
For PYD
Phil,
It is my intention to hold this course if possible and approach Horta from
the north going past the western end of Sao Jorge. Could you please look at the
longer range WX and let me know if it looks a suitable route. The Satphone is
always on but we will check emails later today.
A problem has occurred with the VHF in that both saloon and cockpit units
have gone off though the speaker clicks when power is switched on. Last night we
encountered torrential rain which may be part of the problem. As things stand we
will require MAY to arrange repairs in Horta.
