We woke, as forecast to calm conditions and
sunshine, a wonderful relief after Wednesday.....
Having had leisurely shower, sent PJ to hget
breakfast we left for Belle Ile.
the wind was, as forecvast liht and from the west,
so we motorsailed most of the way, with a sloppy sea left over from the previous
days antics.
Got here at about 5 pm, together with about 50
competitors in a Round the Islands singlehanded race.
They all went into the locked inner basin, while we
chose the fore and aft buoys in the outer harbour. Lovely until a large
catamaran was inserted into a space that the British would think twice about
putting a Ciontessa 32.
Le Palais is a 'proper' little town, a bit bigger
than but reminiscent of Yarmouth. Unlike Ile de Yeu which is definitely a bit
'downmarket' and the holiday homes are at the bottom end of the market one
imagines!
Pictures show a view of the Harbour (which is
invaded regularly by large ferries from the mainland) and PJ backed against the
wall!
Tomorrow all being well to Ile de Groix near
Lorient reaqdy for Lorient on Saturday and another crew change!
