26.08.08. Candida departs Yarmouth

Well this much-anticipated and planned-for day has
finally arrived. The English summer sky is spitting with light drizzle but the
crew are in good form and raring to go.
The number 3 jib is fitted. David is thrust into
his brand new state-of-the-art lifejacket. Last minute hugs and a few moist eyes
and suddenly there is a rush to go. The tide will turn agains Candida on her
westwards passage to Fowey if it is left much longer so at 10.10am on Tuesday
26th August Candida leaves on leg 1 of the great adventure.
