Lobo is a small village under the Mount Lecyansir, which is over 1000 metres high We went ashore to explore and the locals led us to the Fort du Bos monument. The Dutch had established a trading post here in 1828 and was the first European settlement on the island (intended to counter the Brits!). Apparently it was abandoned a few years later, but evidence of their influence was present in a modern day church. Although many of the homes were simple dwellings, modern communication was evident.
There was no shop and the supply boat visits every 2 weeks.
