Pasalimani Bay off the same named
island.
We left Erdek midmorning and motored in company
with piper to this bay where we had been told there was an abandoned harbour
with free mooring.
It was a pleasant journey calm seas and sun shone
as we passed the south and west coasts of Pasalimani a low lying very green and
pastoral looking place.
On our arrival in the above mentioned bay there was
no sign of said harbour but two other UK boats were anchored here so we joined
them and it turned
out to be a lovely spot. Secure holding and
excellent shelter from the NE winds which got up later in the evening. We are
opposite a small restaurant with decking
out over the water - we did intent visiting for a
drink but never got around to it as the wind steadily increased through out the
night. We had a super BBQ on Piper using their Cobb
which can be stood on the deck without harming
anything.
This morning Steve and June decided to leave for
Port Marmara and in fact the other boats all left too - probably as the
forecast is set to deteriorate on Wednesday.
We decided to stay for a further night and then
make a longer passage to the north coast of the Sea Marmara getting us that
much closer to Istanbul. We plan to leave really early
tomorrow.
