The Otira Valley Viaduct near the top of the Pass
And of course, the Keas, trying to play with the vehicles that stop to admire the view.
The photographs do not really do it justice, but it was getting late, so with Driver 2 at the wheel and Driver 1 deciding on the campsite for the night, we headed back down the Otira road until we reached the Lake Brunner Road. Lake Brunner is a lovely, peaceful stretch of water with a quiet campsite for self contained vehicles maintained by the clearly wealthy local authority. A real gem.
The beach near the campsite in the evening light.
A different view of the lake out of the evening sun.
As we arrived so late and it was so beautiful, we tarried for a lakeside walk next morning.
Beautiful views on our lakeside walk with just Mother Nature for company.
