Auto pilot update

Hi Bloggers,
Well progress has been good dare I say it with the
EFF staying at bay for the moment !
The alternator is back from repair , we have fitted
it and tested it and it seems to be working all ok , we have had little success
in finding a replacement so far !
The auto pilot base we made the patterns for on
Sunday are now completed so we are off this morning to collect it and then will
be down the Lazeret for a day fitting it , Rob and myself fitted the new power
supplies to the aft compartment and replaced the Auto pilot brains with the
repaired one , we are also carrying a spare unit just in case !
The Whitlock unit that failed is at the repairers ,
but I don't hold out much hope of repair ! we will see it would be a pleasant
suprise .
Other news is that Lyn has been stocking up the
food supplies and has sourced a material supplier so she can make the wind
scoops , the list we had when we got to this side is slowly diminishing as all
the major parts , pump impellers , oil filters etc are available
here
We haven't seen much of the area yet as its been
work - work - work at the moment , we have seen a ring tailed Lima Mr and Mrs
crossing the breakwater road the other night though ! more wildlife here of the
natural kind than in Colon were most of it wandered around on two legs
!
We are going to take a day out once the auto pilot
is commissioned to look around before we set off , there has also been much
purchasing of fishing lures and tackle , both Rob and Lyn ( Our keen fishing
members ) have been buoyed up by tails from Ike and Dan on Rhythm about the size
of fish they have been catching , on here so far it has been the non fishing
types that have actually caught something ! ! ! ! ! ! ! so you can all look
forward to the BIG catch , hope its not a container !
