We have arrived in Fort Lauderdale, FL, after a very uneventful passage from Cape Canaveral. We are now safely tucked away in Pier 66 marina and it is hot, hot, hot. So all the storm and cold weather gear is being stowed and the shorts and tee shirts are coming out.
We will be here for the next two weeks waiting for Beans, Willie (Bottie’s wife) and the Morgan’s to join us after Thanksgiving. Then we start our next leg, Ft Lauderdale, Cuba, Cayman Islands, Bonaire, St Lucia, Antigua.
Meanwhile, Bottie's going to visit a friend somewhere in the Bayou for Thanksgiving, I don’t know who he is but I think he plays a Banjo! And I fly to LA and ride in the LA-Barstow to Vegas Rally. (No don’t even think it!! I am planning not to get hurt!). It will be a ‘flying visit’, Thanksgiving with Brother Mike and family and then straight out to the desert, so I may not get a chance to see everyone. Sorry!
Well this leg, starting up in Newport, RI, on the 1st October has been just 1500 nm but packed with fun and some very challenging sailing. Thanks to everyone who helped make it so special.
Two weeks off now, so you all get a break from reading about us having all the fun :-)
Luv to all
Steve
