Dear Family and Friends,

11th April 2015

Day 4 and all is well. We have covered 580 NM since our departure from Santa Cruz. The winds have lightened and are more ESE so to make a speed sufficient to reduce the rolling we are sailing low on our course, some 20 degrees south of our rhum line. Annoyingly the wind is not right for dead down wind sailing. Hopefully we will lay a better course if the winds strengthen or come round to the SE.

Squadrons of flying fish to see, think we might now be beyond the range of sea birds, looking forward to other wild life sightings, otherwise our world is 360 degrees of horizon and sky, about 15 miles in any direction. Surprisingly the open space is liberating.

I think I’ll make some biscuits (but not ships biscuits), its good to have a treat, the days highlight!

All our best, Lynne and Alan
