24.52.476N 041.31.740W Calm seas and very light winds are sometimes welcome. This morning we dowsed our yankee sail for some much needed work. After borrowing some 1/4" aluminum checker plate from the engine room floor, we began cutting, drilling, countersinking, and deburring. Next we used a red hot poker to pierce holes in the 1/2" thick sail to accomadate the fourteen 1/4" stainless steel bolts to secure the new clew to it, Three hours later the work was done, and sail hoisted. All we need is some wind to see how effective our job is.
