anchorage:

![]() Another picture of that bad day at anchor. I get a little nauseous just
thinking about it. Those waves breaking on the rocks were about 200 yards behind
us, and we would have wound up there if our anchor didn't hold.
![]() Nurse sharks off the fish-cleaning station at Highbourne. The
pier is pretty high up -- maybe 12' about the water surface, and then the sharks
are 4 or 5 feet below water, to give you a sense of scale. Basically, they
looked big. I was tempted to snorkel in among them, as nurse sharks are supposed
to be the least dangerous of sharks. But Lilly pointed out that they're at this
place looking for a meal, and perhaps it wouldn't be wise. Discretion is the
better part of valor. . . .
