We hadn't managed to get a calm enough day while in Culebra to drop our head sail, so on the first morning while the weather was calm, we decided to give it a go. Between the four of us, and between the repeated squalls, we managed to wrestle the sail down, fold it, and bag it - result! Alex and Naomi got quite a shock when they realised just how big it actually was when it hit the deck, folding it in any sort of decent way is also very difficult as the foot of the sail goes nearly half way down the deck.
In the afternoon, we all went to the beach, as the weather had cleared and was bright, sunny and warm. Last time John and I visited Vieques, we didn't spend much time exploring the island, so this time we all jumped on a bus and headed over to the north coast and the main town, Isabel. This is a charming town, very Spanish, complete with central Plaza in the town. Alex and Naomi liked it so much they decided to return for dinner in the evening as this would be their last evening on anchor, whilst John and I stayed on board the boat.
