The winds were so strong today we gave up trying to get to Isles des Saintes and put in to Basse Terre.    Beating into 40knot headwinds is no easy task even on wonderful Ocean Rainbow!     We were hoping to get ashore at Basse Terre but we took an age to settle the boat.  The holding is really poor and we failed to set our anchor so we eventually took a mooring buoy but that was a struggle as the loop on the buoy are very narrow and we could barely fit our wharp through.    Still, we had a good night, even if it was a bit rolly.
