This is where Cook desperately looked for a way out through the reef after the grounding and subsequent repair at Cooktown. He climbed to the top og the 380 meter hill, something that we will do tomorrow. The reef here is very good with numerous gian clams - approx 1 meter across. Impressive.
Cairns was good with visits to the rain forest and "Table Land". We have a soft spot for cuties like Rock Wallabys that accept to be hand fed if you bring a snack. Beautiful rocks and beautiful small animals at Granite Gorge. And also a lot more.
