Photo Journal of our trip to England

A
Side Trip to England – by plane In September we squeezed in a few days in England to visit
the Southampton Boat Show. Murphy stayed at a kennels in the mountains where she studied Spanish.
These are some of the sights we saw. Portland Bill will be the venue of the 2012 Olympic sailing
events. Blackberry picking Portland Bill Lighthouse and the sea beyond – looking towards
France – 80 or so miles away. Brighton - south coast of England, Brighton Marina on a
sunny day. We had the best possible weather for our trip. Greenwich – prime meridian line at the Greenwich Observatory
– Zero Degrees Longitude. Florida is
at 82 degrees longitude. Looking towards London Docklands from Greenwich. Sights of London, the tall building in the middle is an
office block nicknamed The Gherkin, because it looks like a pickle. In
the second picture, the boat on the left is a water bus that travels up and down the Thames. It was a
great way to see the city for us water dwellers. Then we had to go home |
