]Yesterday was a game of two halves. Brilliant sunshine and fast broad reaching. Had the reefed main out and was tramping along.
Weather files suggested 18 to 25 so left reefed main up and put staysail up instead of genny for the night. Well by 10pm it was blowing 29 to 35 gusting 38. Aha I think its that dark cloud I'll wait an hour and see how it goes. 11pm in huge seas I rounded up and got the main furled away, just!
By this time its steadily inceasing and gusting up to 42KTS. Tried to sleep but it was like an ejector bed and we were dumped sideways a couple of times. Finally eased at 10 am this morning..........and now its sunny again. Anyway the small low yesterday in the english nchannel has changed overnight to a deepening monster wwhich should give 45 Kts on the shelf on Thursday just when I was going to be there.
So at the moment my new course is La Coruna 392 miles, ETA Thusday AM, which also the destination now of several ARC boats.
Weather Sun Wind 26 Kts WNW seas ....dont look!
All well on board!
