We've now arrived in Falmouth for the start of the race. Some very
illustrious - and lustrous - neighbours are aslo in the Marina.
Velsheda (nearest the camera) and Ranger are both rebuilt J-class
boats. Both were dwarfed by Lionheart which left this morning.
Lionheart's overhangs were longer than Halcyon's total length!
Our sail from Salcombe yesterday was good. The wind had calmed down
and wasn't in exactly the wrong direction - so we could sail until the
last 10 miles. The wind then died and so we motored to get to Falmouth
in time for the hog roast
Lots of archetypal sailing buffers around obsessing about weather and
water and anything else
Conditions look good for the start, so let's hope that continues.
