Day 2 Wind- 12-15knts Boat speed - 7-8knts Over night we rolled away the main sail because it was acting as a blanket to the spinnaker, and we carried it well for many hours throughout the day. As Dennis was wanting to charge some batteries, he realized that the generator wouldn’t start, meaning that we can not use the water maker, have a shower, so Dennis has now been in touch with the engineer via sat phone and to charge the batteries we have to run the engine for a few hours a day to keep them topped up. Tonight’s cook was Tony who provided the crew with a superb sea food risotto with some having a glass of wine, after supper the watch systems were organized with Dez & Tony on the first watch followed by Dennis & Sara and then with Martyn & Gareth in a formation of 3 hours on and 6 hours off . We have now rolled in the main and just sailing under spinnaker. Earlier we did suffer some excitement when the spinnaker guy snapped, but the team quickly had matters under control and soon we were flying along again. |
